Residents of Markham Plaza Apartments in San Jose, California enlisted the assistance of Reverend Cary-Andrew Crittenden and Sandy Perry to help organize a Tenant Council, a Federaly Protected Right recognized by the U.,S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Judge Socrates Peter Manoukian claimed that this Tenant Council was illegal. Mr. Crittenden and Mr. Perry were not allowed to address the court and cross examine the witnesses and false statements that were presented to expel the efforts backed by the National Coalition of HUD Tenants and the National Association Against Guardian Abuse. The residents enlisted Mr. Crittenden’s assistance because they were concerned about the hostile and violent living conditions imposed upon the residents by Elaine Bouchard. Many of the residents complained of theft by property management. Mr Crittenden and other advocates and guiess were routinely assaulted by Markham Plaza Property Maintenance Staff.
Detective David Carroll of the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department threatened Mr. Crittenden with arrest & ordered him not to speak about the crimes being committed by Markham Plaza Property Management, which were promoted and endorsed by Judge Socrates Manoukian and County Counsel Orry Korb.
